Michael Braudy is an experienced violinist in Western, North Indian and Celtic music, and has taught music and meditation for over 30 years. A versatile improviser, he regularly collaborates with poets, storytellers, dancers, theatre and mime. From a deep commitment to music as a tool for meditation and health, Michael gives workshops and performances in the United States and abroad. In India, he recently played in Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai and Auroville, and has performed at the Jaipur International Festival in Rajasthan. His recordings include Sumanas, Vriddhi and Awakening Peace, a series of ragas for health, and Celtic Afternoon, a live concert at Sufi Books in Manhattan. Anjana Roy had her early education in music from her father Shri Rebati Ranjan Debnath, who was a senior disciple of Ustad Allauddin Khan of Maihar. She later has had training from several other masters , including Professor Verma of Jaipur, Pandit Debu Chowdhury of Delhi, Pandit Manilal Nag of Calcutta, and Prasanna Singh. Anjana received her Masters of Philosophy degree in music from the University of Delhi. She settled in NYC, where she has taught music in the Shikshayatan institution in Queens, and performed in the Brooklyn Queens Conservatory of Music, The Brooklyn Public Library, International House, the Indian Consulate, and in private concerts.

Stephen Cellucci has studied tabla under the guidance of Pandit Samir Chatterjee since 2000. He was initiated as a disciple of his Guruji in 2005 and has shared the stage with him several times. He performed at the well-known Chhandayan All Night Concert of Indian Music in New York City in 2004 and 2009. He also has extensive experience playing with kirtans and accompanying dance, and both traditional Indian kathak and Western modern forms.
Stephen's background in western classical music and piano complements his rigorous study of Indian music. His scope of musical influences gives him the versatility to adapt the tabla to most any musical need. He resides, teaches, and plays in New York City, and can be contacted at sjcellucci@gmail.com.

A concert of Irish and Scottish music including the slow airs of O'Carolyn and vibrant jigs and reels from traditional and contemporary Celtic composers and a reel based on an Indian raga

 

Michael Braudy is a violinist experienced in Western, North Indian and Celtic music, and collaborates with poets, storytellers and dancers, in theater and mime, and performs and offers workshops in the U.S. and abroad. Michael studied Western violin with Raphael Bronstein and Dorothy Delay, and Indian music with Acharya Roop Verma and Pandit V.G. Jog.

A guitarist born in Poland, Paul Cesarczyk has lived in New York City from an early age. He attended the La Guardia High School for the Arts, the Manhattan School of Music and Stony Brook University. Mr. Cesarczyk is a recipient of numerous international awards and honors, including the prestigious Andres Segovia Award and the Aaron Copland Award from ASCAP. As an accomplished teacher, he has taught at New York University, SUNY Stony Brook and the Bloomingdale School of Music.

Experience how music and sound can be an aid to meditation. Utilizing Indian music and vocals and Western meditative vocalizations, we will reflect on how sound resonates within and around us.

You will take with you new ways to use music to produce states of peace, relaxation and awareness. All are welcome, no previous experience necessary.
